Unfortunately those snakes are going to need to be put down - zoo's are already stocked up and irresponsible pet stores (and owners) go around selling/buying these things as babies like they're hot schnit.

The shop I work in won't sell anything larger than a red tail boa, and we make sure the buyer's are well aware of the size they'll grow to.

Funny how it takes a child's death to get anything started on this epidemic - gotta love politicians and their fake BS.

Sadly your right . I wonder if they will find new color morphs :banhim:

Sounds like a episode of the Simpsons.
They should relocate them or put them in a zoo that could handle a snake like that.

"Sounds like a episode of the Simpsons"

lol that was good .

Well I for one am not all about going around killing all the snakes. I also live in Michigan and have been bit twice by rattle snakes. I show no hate for them they were doing there thing and I was fishing. I got to close didn't see the snake and I was bit. I feel people who just plane lack common sense are more of a threat then any snake. Look and see what kills more people drinking and driving or snake bites.

Rattlers are naturally occuring in your area - this is an argument about an invasive species.

These were one that came off the trains we made sure to keep it for proper ID. We also had blue racers come off trains for a little bit too.

Still, the argument is that there are pythons and boa's being released from other continents on the planet into the Everglades that are killing naturally occuring species due to a lack of predators - which is totally valid.

The animals need to be killed simply because there are no resources to house them - not out of spite. We should not be spending tax money on relocation programs for exotic species of animals when we are in an economic crisis.

If that was my daughter that was killed by a snake, I'd make it my life's work to kill them all.

It should be your life's work to rid the earth of idiots...the death of that child was 110% the fault of the irresponsible owner of the snake.

Anyways this seems like a lame, half-assed way to go about this situation that is clearly a way for the politician to make it seem he cares. In reality all it is snake-phobia that happens to have a mission in this case. Go ahead and kill the snakes (if you can find any)...its not going to matter down the road when its turned into a parking lot.

I wonder who will volunteer? Probably people like that iguana lady in florida who goes around shooting them with bow and arrow. :irked:

If your daughter was killed by a snake due to your own stupidity, why then it makes perfect sense to blame the animal and not make it your life's work to educate people instead...

I like snakes...however the invasive species should be purged from the Everglades. Economic crisis eh? How about eating them? :P Could be the biggest BBQ in Florida history!

Was there any point in this? All i did is state what i think.. If that was my daughter that was killed by a snake, I'd make it my life's work to kill them all. Everybody is different.. I'm going to let this go at that.. No need to start a pissing contest.
Most snakes do EVERY thing to avoid humans and 70% of all snake species are harmless or practicly harmless including many small shy species minding their own busigness. I understend at 100% your anger if such trangic event happened to you, God bless, but you must also understend the nonsence you just said. That snake did that, all the others are innocent, in fact all are innocent by all matters but the culprids killing would be in that case legitimate

Agreed...but they do have predators, they are not going out completly lacking control
