First of all great job, you are clearly doing something right with these fish. I am amazed at how much your male looks like an umbriferum. The coloration is very similar from what I can see. Also, if you ever get them to spawn please put me at the top of the list for some fry.

Thanks. They are really active. Everyone who comes over enjoys watching them. I'll keep em coming. When I have time I try and get a few more pictures up.

Thanks. Never really thought of the color similarities with Umbie's. They do somewhat share some similarities in color, but the video seems to make the fish a lot more blue than he actually is. Don't get me wrong, the male does have a lot of blue in him, but you can't really see all the red at the edge of his scales in the video. Either way, I see what your talking about ;)

I've been told by a few people that I should name them, but I've never actually named any of my fish before, so if anyone wants to make some suggestions as to a good name for the pair, I'm all ears :)....
 
Great job bro!!! If it wasn't for all my festaes, I would be back on the istlanum train again!! I really miss my wild pair... And back when I researched istlanums during my keep of them, I found someone claiming them to be mini umbees lol and I've referred to them as such ever since:) keep it up!!!

My camera's been getting dusty, so I decided to take a few quick pics. I wasn't satisfied with the ones I got of the female, so these are of just the male for now. I'll see if I can get some better ones of the female later. Thanks for looking ;)
