The bamboo is fine, but it will only live for a couple years max in fully aquatic environment.

netherwords it gets too water logged.. do the fish nip at it too.. very nice how it looks..thanks Ewurm
 
My oto has chewed the "bark" halfway up one stalk, otherwise it is unmolested.

Anytime. I get my bamboo at IKEA, they have it for 1.99-2.99 per stalk, depending on size. Size always matters. LOL

You can buy the bamboo and keep some of it in a little rocks and water.. and cut them in half and make new shoots.. and then cut them in half again and they will root again so you can keep a supply going.. here you can buy them in the chinese takeouts..{which is where i got mine} suppose to be lucky..but i never knew about their use or survival in fish tanks.. a couple of years is good ..alot of my aguarium plants do not last that long lol. I wouldn't know if they are lucky, but my loaches are doing well!

I can see they are... cannot wait until mine are bigger.. loaches are great.. happy fish.

Fed some more smelt eggs tonight, just about everybody got some. Diners were:

Ram
Darters
Plethora of Loaches
Saltwater Inverts
Platys
Barbs
Mini datnoid
