the tank is 5foot tall the viewing panel starts 6inches off the bottom. so theirs 6 at the top and 6 at the bottom that you cant see. i hope this clears it up

60"- 12' = 48"

When using the standard acrylic calculator, I came up with 2.27" for this build. 2" should be OK, but I would go too much thinner.

finshed that sanding portion. but i might go back tomarrow with a finer grit. today i fished wth 340 i think. i have a bunch of 600 left. what could it hurt?

if anyones curious my plan is to run a wakin filter.

and today just gets worse. i remeasured i need 6 more inches of wall space and i could run a wakin filter. after exhausting all other options, ceilings to short cant run a over head filter, no room behind or else we wouldnt be able to get past it, cant go longer because im stuck between a furnace and a door.

im going to run 3 eheim 2262 and pray they are enough. my orginal plan was to run ozone, since i dont have a sump i guess im going to run a over sized UV. i need to do more research into uv's. if you cant guess already, untill i find out what i need for the uv pipe/pump wise and how big eheim 2262 hoseing is, i wont be painting this weekend.

i already know a 90watt uv is gonna be 2 arms 2 legs and well yeah in cost.

Can't you just put in an overflow and run a big sump?

YAY! the epoxy just came in. nothing will get done this weekend as far as i know its drum corps international finals saturday i got the best seat my money could buy, took today off to watch semi finals, yesterdays quater finals were shocking.

im stocking plan is some cichla, and some smaller catfish like a trigrinus. do you think 3 eheim 2262's and 1 of these

be adiquate filtraion.

Don't bother with one of those. Just buy a generic water filter from Home Depot or Lowes, and get the micron filter to go with it. You can get it for like $20 I think.

no room for a sump anywhere
define anywhere, you can pump the water anywhere you need and it's common for large tanks to have the sump in another room.
