Google sovereign citizen movement. I don't know if he's officially involved, if there even is any official way to be involved, but he seems to be of their mindset. Most aren't dangerous, including the rancher IMO, but many who are rushing to his aid probably are.

Those incidents came to mind when I first heard of this story...thanks houie,I'll get right on it.
the last sentance is the tell...this kind of incident ramps up the anti-govt crowd....let em 4 wheel their way to DAKOTA(either one they want),stay off OUR ROADS, build their own schools,libraries, roads, provide themselves with gainful employment ...and just GO AWAY...WE DON'T need em

I am weighing in after reading the op's post and watching(parts) and reading the news story....SO this really is easy, sorry to those that support the rancher ,HE IS A FREELOADING SQUATTER, his family,IF they had grazing rights back in the day were PAID when the land was condemned for federal use,so he has no case at all, that I can see...the fact that he has "militias"(domestic terrorists ) coming to his aid will further weaken his position in courtpost script:the fact that the rancher stopped paying his permit fees gives him 0 rights to graze his cattle , the fact that he doesn't observe the govt that provides the land for his cattle to graze on is absurd,,, maybe he want's help from FIDEL CASTRO . Or the president of MEXICO...this guy is 100% kook...let him move outta the country if he doesn't recognize the govt...

As much as I agree here, I still wanna see the Feds loose.
I find people here in the US vastly overestimate their 'rights' ... we are no where near as 'free' as we think. These people need to actually study the law before claiming they have a right to break laws.
I am not a big"fan "of the fed...but it's funny how this stuff ramps up every time a certain "type"of leader is in office,this happened way more frequently in the last few years and the 90's than it did 2000-2010... wait... for ..it...we know what comes next...

...or the native organisms in the area. I'm not saying I agree with this, I just wanted to point out that he's being hypocritical.
Yeah he's a squatter that doesn't want to pay anything for land. If he owned it he would have to pay property taxes. I work at a fish farm and we lease some of our land to the farm next door for their cattle. 150 acres of foliage for cattle to eat should be something worth paying for, especially since he's profiting from the cattle.
