I found the Lowes here to be worse than Home Depot. The Lowes employees didn't even respond to the call for service when I needed lumber cut, I ended up walking out and going to Home Depot. That has happened at Lowes more than once and with different things too. The Home Depot has been very careful in cutting lumber for me, and the lead cutter explained some stuff to me awhile back too. He said this specifically of their store, but it wouldn't surprise me if others are affected. He said the cutting machine worked great until it needed servicing about a year ago, they took the blade out and resharpened it, and when they put it back in, the lead cutter noticed it cut on an angle. He reported this but nothing was done, it was an acceptable fault of one millimeter per yard or so. Instead of leaving it he wedged a nail in the machine to level the boards now. With that being fixed he also noted the angle on the blade cut is not 90 degrees, it runs short at 88 or so now too. He tries to angle the board as it is cut to correct that but warned me I may need to sand it down to make it even, he also cut it a hair longer to make that possible. He's one of the few though that will try to make things right probably, many don't even know that machine well and I'm guessing don't get why it doesn't cut right either. He pointed to the sign above it too, says something like 'the cuts may not be perfect', an "out" clause for the company.
