New 1100 Gallon Indoor Pond!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
a. Adding some floor tiles to reinforce the bottom and enhance the visibility and aesthetics of the pool, might help with the longevity of it also, not sure.
(Not a good idea, this will almost definately tear a hole in the liner)

b. Will use the filter pump that comes with it (550GPH) and course the water through a DIY multi drawer cabinet mechinal/bio sump filter. Will this suffice, or do I need to get additional filtration/aeration?
(Probably will need a much larger pump, something about 2000GPH if you're planning on running it for any decent period of time)

I had to break that pond down because my father didn't know I had it in the house...he was overseas for a while...I have since rebuilt a ghetto pond thats 8ftx4ftx30" deep plywood style pond that houses my 28" Planiceps/14" Piraiba/12" Ageneiosus Marmoratus/13" Cichla Temensis at the moment.

really? then maybe I should just put in some additional tarp layers as "protection" for the vinyl liner against driftwood/pebbles/sand and other pond decors.

I actually have the 10' metal frame model, but after I set it up, there was a very very minor leak, like a couple of table spoons overnight, so I purchased another intex liner (12'), I put in some tarps onto the first liner and then put in the new intex liner and will add some more tarps on top as a layer of protection, wonder if this will finally work.

Yeah, I will get the Rio HF 32 pump which pumps somewhere around 1.5k g/hour.

Plan to house: Paroon Shark, RB Pacu's, Clown Knife Fish, and possibly an RTC and TSN...

Wow! That's an awesome pond, and I really hope to have one like that some day. How's the humidity doing in the house?

hi ive just gone through your whole thread and was just wondering whether a chiller/heater would be a great way to maintain temps in your pond. i know they're expensive but WE LOVE OUR FISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome setup
