mmmm I think you forgot to read my post fieldermaus. I would go with 1 or 2 of any other type of cichlid that grows to about a foot or more in length. There may end up being a battle royale and you only have one fish left at the end but you'll know he is a true badass and respect him even more. Hence Oscar, Red Devil, flowerhorn, festae, pike..... and others but those are ht efirst to come to mind. I'm sure many people will disagree with me, but whatever that is how I roll. And if you want to throw in some other community fish as fodder for later then go ahead but I wouldn't expect to see them grow old and large. I don't know how into fish you are but all I named are extremely territorial with the least being the Oscar.
