what hes trying to say is there more to go wrong

ya but that is the same to any tank that runs more then 1 filter...

also I know some people fill up their sump to much and then the power goes out so the water continues to flow into the sump (over flowing the sump and flooding the floor) until the water line in the tank is below the overflow...

I belive that is what he meant...

I like the statistics, but I do have a problem with noit having enough water in my sump of the 800. I'll be building a larger sump tank this winter. Incidently my 240 has a 110 gallon sump. A bit over kill but it's what I had room for. One thing I did not take into consideration is how much water is in my plumbing going to and from the sump. I tend to do things on a large scale and after making many many filters for my tanks over the years I've come to find that the sumps and filters I design need to be atleast 25% of the original tank size. That's not to say yours isn't going to work. If it was built by a proffesional then it will more than likely be fine.

Is the tank up and running?

:chillpill: Geez..you people are unbelievable...busting the guy's nutz. The guy clearly stated he's been busy...I'm sure he has other priorities such as..job...family..etc...

Besides...taking his time is his perogative...maybe he wants to get it done right the first time instead of changing and redoing things over and over as many here do. :nilly:

Hey blaker..take your time and do it right. Its you that has to look at it everyday and your fellow office workers so I'm sure you want it to look as beautiful as possible.

Good luck.

wow, i've missed this thread all along. well, the stocking possibilities are endless. in an office, you'd be better off with some nice tank decor, large boulders, wood, some easy to keep plants and creat a nice biotope with all different kinds of colorful fish from the same region. that would make it real easy on the eyes.

most people on this board, hence-monsterfishkeepers, like giant tank busting fish. I would stock it with a lot of large stingrays for bottom, some largemid water fish, like arowanas, datnoids, all eye catching with nice colors, and bring you good fortune for the business.

as for the sump size, it really doesn't matter, large or small, it depends more on the total volume of water you're circulating compared to the amount of waste your fish are producing. you could have a 1000 neons and go with a 10 gallon sump, you'd still be fine. you could go sumpless and have inline canister filters, or continuous water change systems, or combination. the same is true that you could never have too large of a sump, you could fill the entire length of the tanks with sumps on the bottom, probably will keep the system more stable for xxxl fish.

if you browse around here on the photo lounge you could get some ideas of the fish to keep. native north american fish are fine to keep, but make sure your local regulation doesn't have any bearing on what you'll be keeping.

i'd go with monster sized fish, that would take up like 6 of the 8 feet length of the tank.

I been reading this thing off and on forever it feels like, wasting half my internet time hoping to finish this stupid saga, but no. i know it helps to take your time with stuff and the tank looks like it will be awesome, but this has been a whole lotta nothing! poo.
