Yep. I think it is the messiest I have ever gotten. (PVC flakes everywhere...) But hopefully a good vacuuming and it will look like new. IE I am not doing anything that should stain the carpet.

Tomorrow I am going to test the filtration for leaks. Fingers crossed. (I used enough silicon...

Here are a few pictures...

The main filtering will be going on in the 4 whitish containers. Then there will be ~25 gallons worth of back up space in case I loose power. (Which in Atlanta happens much too often.) Though one Bucket plus rubbermaid will have to sit outside of the tanks stand because of space problems.

Anyways there are 420 watts of light on this beast... I may switch some bulbs out next year so it isn't so blue. (But they will always be bright with this 140 watt per bulb setup.) I did make one annoying mistake. I cut my only long 1" diameter PVC without actually measuring to the size I wanted. (IE I just used the only setup size, forgetting that I wont be using the black spray setup.) That means I get to go to home depot and buy a 6 ft pipe. Oh well at least it is cheap. And yes the tank could do with a good wash, but that wont happen till I am getting ready to fill it.

you sir, (I assume, possibly maddam) have a beautiful tank, and one ugly dog. HaHa. No offense, I've got an ugly dog myself and I'm glad the hobby is growing

You think cockers look ugly :-( I can't tell you how many people come up to me saying she is so cute.

Anyways we forgive you.

(I am a guy buy the way, name is Kevin, Physics Grad student at GAtech, and part of the Atlanta Area Aquarium Association, actually a board member now.)

Now the real news.

Well I water tested. And it looked like it was going perfect, but after about 15 minutes a hairline drip started. Which means I will just have to plug it with more silicon.

Now the bad news. I have gotten to the point of being really worried about if I should fill this tank... I mean I trust the tank, I don't know if I trust the floor... So I am going to have some guys come in to check it out and then we will decide if I should just wait till I move... (4 dang months away) or if I should try it and quickly empty if I hear creaking...

Anyways doubt I will have much more of an update. I may show off how the fitler does when it is all piped together. (Knowing me if I decide it isn't safe I likely will still do it... ugh I can me an idiot sometimes.) (And I can't break the lease since it would cost the same as just living here for the next 4 months.)
