Hello, new to the forum

While I am about to make a deal for a drilled 300 gallon tank 84 x 27 x 31 I can't help but to start planning my stock. This will be my biggest tank yet. I also have a 120 and a 125 gallon

It will run a 90 gallon sump with a dolphin external pump 1200 gph. I will likely get another pump to add to the turnover.

I had looked into very aggressive cichlids but I would like to have pairs of multiple kinds of cichlids rather than just a pair of those

Here are some of the fish I have been thinking about

Firemouth
Green terror
Oscar
Salvini
Mida
Flower horn
Texas cichlid
Bichir

Maybe a some kind of catfish like clown loaches or something

Iets here your stock suggestions I'd love to hear them,

Thanks!

So are u gonna go with the basic beginner cichlid setup? I would reccomend a clown knifefish. They are the best fish ever!

If I where you I'd keep large oddballs rays and cichla. That would be pretty cool.

Welcome to the forum! Now if you want to go cichlids (which I am not an expert on (yet!)) then I would personally do a few big ones such as a midas, trimac, (not sure if this would be to aggressive but) Umbee, with some dither like Red hooks (the large silver dollars) and a few big catfish like a TSN, achara, and ID shark. But thats just me!

PS clown loaches are not catfish, not sure if that was a typo you made or just didnt know, regardless, NOW YOU KNOW :)

Haha now I know. I'm thinking a few large ones and then a couple pairs of the ones listed above. I just have to be careful choosing the big ones for them not to be to aggressive

From this I'm guessing you decided to NOT go with aggressive cichlids and would like to instead go with multiple pairs of less aggressive cichlids?? Is this correct?? If so, some on your list are pretty aggressive... Midas, Green Terrors, Salvini and Flowerhorns... If you want to have multiple pairs in your tank I would suggest from your list the Firemouths and Oscars and maybe some severums, Chocolates and Pearsei?? I'd go with an Armored catfish too... maybe a giant rapheal? Maybe even a silver Aro?? Good luck!!

Nah, nah, nah. Just buy nothing but Vieja's. Regani, Synspilum, Fenestratus, Zonatus, Argentea, Bifasciatus, Breidohri. Go look at some of those on youtube, see if you like 'em. Look up chaidan's aquarium blog, he used to post on here. Here's a link to a Fenestratus that's amazing... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqd36AWwZSg That's what I'd do if I was you. Just sayin'

Wow that fish in the video is cool looking. They must be expensive though i have never seen or heard about those before.

Would an arrowana work with new world cichlids?
