I finally setted up my 450g a few days ago. Filled it up and all filtration running. It took about 1.5 hours to fill it up with water with a Aquaria Vac connected from the kitchen sink
. Squeezed all the mulm out of my old filters into the new tank and filters was precycled from my 225g. Also added some cycle just to be on the safe side. Today tested the water parameters and everything was good. So far I added the Pbass's and RTC to the tank today. I will add the Aros later on cause I want them to eat more and beef up a bit since the Pbass's were stressing them out from eating as they caused alot of splashing while fed. All I can say is if you set up a tank sized like this I'd advise to go for a sump because once I filled up the tank one of my FX5's intake tubes fell off the suction cups and I couldn't reach them nor get them off so I actually had to get into the tank and water to fix it...
Later on in the future when I move into a house and have a basement I will be DIY dual overflow sump system on this tank. Also I'll be adding some lighting, pool filter sand, some driftwood later on as I find the bare tank look very plain...
Enjoy
All set up and started to fill.
Today with some life going in.
