New 55g Suggest away

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I don't think we should be suggesting Frontosa for a 55 gal unless the op wants to use it to grow them out for a year and then get at least a 125 since they do grow slow and are very beautiful... I also love how Trophues tanks look :) But yeah Mbuna are the way to go in a 55... that or peacocks... could also do a Lake Victorian group in a 55...
So many possibilities what are you leaning towards Mitch?

Mbuna tank!!:headbang2
All the way!Fronts are awesome but we are talking about a 55g tank here.
saulosi colony and a group of lab. hongi would look cool.

1 front in a 55g is perfect.... but ur right 125 is better

I have heard it is best to keep Fronts in large colonies... And beleive me 1 male will outgrow a 55 without much trouble ;)

Yea u are right... But it depends on what type of Frontosa it is and well i have one Zaire Blue in my 60G he is 9 inches and he loves it.... but i am upgrading to a 125 or 180 next year... as for keeping them in groups it isn't important if you do not intend on breeding them.. so far he is quite happy with his malawi tank mates so im happy..

But you are right :D to a certain extent

Respect to anyone who keeps frontosas and one day I plan to keep them but as seen in the vid fronts just kinda float around. A mbuna tank moves and flows like a constant movie. Added with thier vibrant color a mbuna tank is a masterpiece!!!

Plus to keep fronts right you definatly coudn't house them in a 55 lol
