New 6ft Acrylic tank on the Cheap. LOTS of Pics

It isn't 100% clear but pretty good, having water in it made it much better. The pictures just suck a lot. Looks better in person. And I got 3 bulbs in looks better with more light too.

And I just calculated the volume, tank is 100g actual water volume and I have 60g in the sump right now but I could easily double that amount. It's only 8" deep right now.
 
And I just pulled the plug on the pump, holy cow was that thing hot. It was kind of humming loud so I felt it and it was burning hot. I think it may need oiled, it said it should be done every 6 months right on the pump but I don't know if it's been done or how. Anyone know what kind a little giant pump would take?

Otherwise I may just grab a new pump.
 
WOW so the sump has a bigger totall volume then the tank? that's crazy filtration. I would switch the two tanks If possible. Either way you can't beat that for $140. Is this a CL find?
 
Car forum find, yea the sump if full is 2x the volume. I wish I could swap them, not a way.

Well I did look on the pump and it says SAE 20 weight oil, I'll get some tomorrow. I tried to pull the oiling plugs and it seems as though they have never moved. I may order a new pump. They are $142 shipped from DrFS. I am going to try the oiling thing tomorrow first though.
