New 6'x9' I door pond.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah I will definitely be putting a cover on it, I would be too scared leaving it open since I have a : year old who would easily climb up and fall in. I was thinking about putting hinges on the back side and maybe some arms like u see on the back of lift gate on an SUV. But we will see. Yeah that sand did look really dirty...I just think it needed to settle and get filtered a little...looking good now!

Great build! Can't wait to see it once it's stocked and running!

That looks AMAZING! Great Job! Those sharks have so much room and are looking really great in there! Are you located any where in OH? I'd pay you to build me one too...lol
Can you tell me specifically what you are using for your filtration and heating? Ours will go in a basement so what would I need to worry about in terms of humidity? Will normal home humidifiers work?
This is exactly what I need to build. I have some time though, my 2 IDS are roughly 14"+ and 12"+ currently very comfortable in a 150 with a 6' footprint. How big are your guys currently and do you believe this pond will support them the rest of their lives?
Thanks for you help. I told you I was gonna follow you step by step...lol. but seriously it looks great -Amber

Thanks guys and gals!!!

I actually live in Indiana, Fort Wayne area. For filtration I have a large pool filtered, rated for a 5000 gallon pool. But I have lava rock inside and not sand. Super easy to clean using the back flush. I also have and fx5 hooked up on the opposite end. As far as humidity I will eventually make a cover and use a home dehumidifier...
