  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Did anyone read the article in PFK May issue, page 106-107. All about using soil under your gravel, I read it right after I finished, after reading I will now thin my gravel a little, this helps prevent build up of hydrogen sulphide.

Gravel levelled a little.

water tests are:
PH 6.8
Am 0.2
Ni 0
Na 7

I put the 4 largest rocks frmo the small tank in and moved the large filter to the large tank, pumps still exchanging water between tanks.

Well what can I say...pat yourself on the back for a job well done.

Oh, and 676 veiws so far...Yah, somebody is looking.

ben i did not doubt for one minute that i would work, i just could'ent get my head around how it works:)

ok, i'll explain it as best i can, thomas...ermmm danny

3 pieces of pipe, 1 T piece, 1 pump

pump goes in tank with pipe no. 1 coming up to the top of the tank and into the T piece

T piece has pipes 2 and 3 which are different lengths running into sump but ends not submerged, pipe 2 runs straight down to sump, pipe 3 goes a bit bendy to create a U bend type effort

when pump is running, flow goes into both but as pipe 2 is direct water flows freely through
pipe 3 fills the U and stops

when the pump stops, air is sucked up the U (pipe 3) by the weight of water in pipe 2 and the syphon is broken

da der.............
