new 75

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i would do 6x48" t-5's, that would help your case with SPS a bit more. otherwise if you did a custom canopy then id shoot for VHO bulbs. I got those with my new tank and my corals are doing better then under t-5s. you'd spend as much and i think get better results. Just thinking though.

bump...

and i got some of the base rock (99.99% sure the oscar's gone :()
i might have pics up tommorrow if i can squeeze out of work early

a banana eel? eh...

so far im thinking

bellus or wantenabe angel
coupld of jaws
doliatus foxface
couple of BLUE chromis, scissortail gobies, blue gudeons, or firefish
some fairy wrasse
2 tilefish
and a scopas or purple tang?

any ideas?

well... the oscar's gone :( said a little prayer and got him a plot in the yard
im going to miss that sweet azz fish:(

sorry to hear about the oscar.........

as far as your stocking list, id do a purple tang over a scopas. There more relaxed and usually fair better if they dont get as much green matter as they should. You still planning on coral in this tank?? Decide a lighting unit yet?

no i haven't

and im not really dead set on what to do

-i can buy a new unit
48'' halides are like a grand around here

-i haven't seen a 48'' 4-6 bulb T5 only 1 and 2

-don't REALLY want to order online

-and could do this wierd shift thing i've come up with where i take the 24'' halide over my 29, buy another one ($300) take the 24'' dual bulb T5 off the 10 gallon (probably taking that down and making it fowlr) and be fine an set in only 300 bucks with new halides, if not more work and compromise

or you could order (online) the sunlight supply tek light for 350 and get better heat control and less power consumption then halides.

whats the reason you dont want to order online?? so far i havnt had much issues, just the package getting a day later then expected, but thats not to bad.

phising and ID theft etc... i live at home and my folks are even more paranoid thatn i am about that stuff
