Cories will work well. The only problem is they might be outcompeted for foods. The cichlids and loaches you want are greedy eaters.

By the way, you might want a spare tank to breed extra Malaysian trumpet snails. Whichever loaches you pick, some may not eat the MTS, others will do however so test a few and see how long they survive your preferred loaches. MTS help stir the sand but most loaches will eat them.

loaches will eat the snails? how hard are they to breed and how many you think i would need in the tank? plus do you think ti would be worth planting anything?....so i guess there is not any kind of big cory lol?

Most loaches will eat the snails. It depends which loaches you chose but a lot of botias actually do. Breeding MTS is not difficult. They're livebearers and can reproduce faster if food supply is rather abundant.

Look for Bronchis splendens. They're bigger than cories reaching 3-4 inches at most and may have a better chance getting their fair share of foods. I forgot about this one.lol Sorry.:)

If you want to try plants, it may be best to go with anubias and Java ferns. These are often sturdy and avoided by most vegetarians. The severums can easily tear other plants down and if the loaches are not supplemented with veggies, they may strip down the plants just as well.

yeah the "emerald green cory cat" (not sure on real name) sold at petsmart gets 4"

oh ok...i might try and get my hands on a bronchis but the LFS around here really suck...i will prolly stay away from plants for now cause in the past they have ben messy for me.

oh nice...just noticed the whole loach assimilation thing lol guess im talking to the right guy
