G'day,
Thought I might post a few pics of my Setup I started a couple of months ago.
Building everything myself except for the tank itself.
Specs:
Tank: 3040mm x 755mm x 755mm (10ft x 2.5ft x 2.5ft)
1732ltrs or 457gal
Filtration: 2x Fluval FX5 Cannister's
4x 1200lph internals (not bought yet)
Heating: 2x Eheim Jagger 300watt heaters.
Lighting: 4x 150watt metal halide pendants
Substrate: 200kg of 2mm Black gravel
Stand: Custom made steel (40mm x 40mm x 3mm SHS)
Welded up by my old man and myself, will have cupboards to match my kitchen (2k metalic brown with a gold flick, and Stainless steel handles), and a hood to match, minus the stainless handles!
Anyway, enough yabbering from me, here are some photo's of the progress.
Tank at the tank builders, almost cured and ready fo me to take home.
This is the tank in it's postion sitting on the custom trolley we made to make it easily movable whilst we were still building the stand.
Few photo's of my old man welding up the stand. (Thanks Dad!)
Getting closer
Almost there
Time to lift the 300kg tank up onto it's new home, took 6 blokes to lift it up onto the 900mm high stand.
Few of the boys that helped out. (Thanks boy's, couldn't of done it with out you!)
Moving it all back into it's postion with a Pallet Jack.
These are some photo's of the filter media & the lights.
Lights
This is what the cupboards will look like, really bad picture, but they are a mettalic brown with a gold flick 2k paint (just like your car's paint)
Last photo, this is the tank with one of the filters hooked up and a 1 of the heaters in it's rough postion.
Thats it for the moment.
I'm hanging the light fixtures this weekend, so I will update this post again probably Sunday night with a few photo's of how that went.
I'm hoping to wash the gravel and rocks in the next couple of week's, then I can finally add water!
I should mention that all of this has been our wedding present. Would never of been able to afford it without the generosity of our friends.
Cheers
Dan
