WOW :WHOA:
all glass, 10' tank...
BOOOM!!! That's the sound of my project getting blown out the water.

Very nice indeed. Looking forward to seeing the doors/cupboards for the stand.

now thats how you do it.
if i build my own house i want a few hundred gallon tank in a main wall. :headbang2
you could build yours out to make it look built in,that would look sweet there. :D
an aro would be perfect for that but i think you cant have one of those.not sure.lol
cant wait to see how this turns out.

An aro would eventually get too big for this tank. EG, it grow to 2 foot, its only got 6" to turn around.

Where abouts in Oz are you?

Mystix212: I'm in Victoria mate, way down south in the cold at the moment.

An aro would be nice, but as you said he'd get a little uncomfortable once he got a bit bigger. That and the mrs. ;)

midnight: I was going to build it in originally, but it would have made the room look to small. I also really prefer my tanks as feature furniture.

maxumis: unfortunately the cupboards are still a good 6 weeks away, it's all time and $$$, both of which are hard to come by at the best of times. Especially with a little one due to arrive in 7 weeks or so.

rkc772: Yeah, it was a good thing that our electrician was a good friend of ours, he was the one that suggested it, and i'm sure glad I went ahead with it, peace of mind knowing that it'll take a fair load to trip the circuit breaker.

It will be planted, but not to heavily, trying to keep the maintance down on this one. Had a heavly planted 6x2x2 a couple of years ago, way to time consuming.

I'm doing the lights today, so once they are up and running i'll throw a couple more pictures up.

Thanks to all for the kind words. :grinno:

Cheers
Dan

Right on Dan!! I too may go with the massive schools in a comm. tank. Working on the plants as we speak. You are right ,it takes a lot of $$ to get a big tank going. Mines only 8'x2'x30", but it too is the focal point of course! Keep us updated if you don't mind. I aim to do a step by step of my project but never seem to find the time. I'm either working on the tanks or on here learning everyday. Good work mate!

THAT IS AWSOME, At my local bigals(lfs) they have a built in 10X4X3 HEAVLY PLANTED tetra tank, and its awsome, i love the look of it, the huge groups of tetra,s the neons are like 1" long O.O... very nice...

I love your choice in cabinets, very sheek...

If your going planted, are you going to have a DIY yeast reactor for CO2 or just buy a Dupla one?

Congrats on the little kidling.

Ok, manged to get the lights up and runing over the weekend, I think it looks fantastic.

Only drilled 2 holes in the wrong spot. doh' :irked: (I knew I shouldn't have gone out drinking the night before!) But what can you do eh? It happens.

Here's a photo.
