Thanks, Passed on the msg to the wife. She loves it.
Still want to put another dozen or so smaller plants in the foreground, just to give it some colour.

No driftwood. I used to have a massive peice in my old tank. Just turned the water a tea colour, couldn't get rid of it. So this time round no drift wood at all. Even though I love the look of it.

Yeah, tha 1st rock has a really good shape to it.

Next on the list is to get it up to temp.
That should be done in the next couple of days, then add some fish next weekend to get the cycle started, while i'm down at the lfs I'll most likely grab those plants I mentioned to fill out the fore ground.

In the mean time I'll make a start on some of the cupboards.

:D

Cheers
Dan

Looking good dude, now I can appreciate the SIZE of this monster! I agree with you that driftwood can be tricky, I always seem to get some water staining from mine, comes and goes with the water changes, doesn't bother the fish (in fact, I think south american fish prefer it...), but is a pain in the @ss when you want that crystal clear look, which I'm sure your going for...
MORE PLANTS!
Looking forward to your next update...

looking awesome

Hey dude, i know that! I was specifically talking about the discus, but fair point!

Angels and discus don't look like your "typical" cichlid, so a gud choice if you wanna pull the wool over the eyes of a cichlid hater! Heehee!

Keep up the good work....(!)

My point was he said she was cool with angels, he is 1/2 way there....

Decided to stay clear of driftwood.

Bought a couple more plants today, got a free small crypt that someone had left on top of the tank at the store. Looks like it should be fine. So I bought the only bunch of hairgrass (will this spread on it's own or do I have to break it up as it grows and replant?) they had, a couple of some fluffy looking plant (good description eh?;) ) and the free crypt.

I'll dunk the camera in the tank to get a couple of close up pictures to try to help get the plants ID.

I've started to fertilise it with flourish. Good idea or bad?

Burtess: I decided to go for glass because here in Australia acrylic isn't very common, let alonje trying to find someone to make a custom acrylic tank this size. Then there's the cost. Now my tank in glass was expensive, but acrylic I would safely bet would be 2 or 3 times the price. I would have liked it in acrylic for a saftey point of view, but what can ya do eh?

Weekend is getting closer, that means the first couple of fish are getting closer too! Yay for me! :headbang2
