I came up with this idea because I wanted the minnows to be able to swim in from multiple directions.

So here it is. I took a liquorish container and cut holes in the sides and put the water bottles in and glued them in place.

The fish have 6 entry points, but also 6 exit points so the trap needs to be checked often. I also hung a large hook with a worm right in the middle of the entry points to hopefully draw more fish in.

You can also remove the whole lid so its easy to remove fish. Just make sure to drill holes in the top of the lid to let the air out when sinking the trap.

Here is the pics.

This one you can see the worms hanging down.

Only one very short soak. This weekend will be the real test.

great idea :)
not to be a downer but ive found more entries is more exits :D

No downer. see what I wrote below in my first post. I figure if I keep an eye on it and check it often I may have some good luck. I only had minimal luck with the single entry design so I thought I go with a lot of entries and ween it down from there until I find the most successful.

Uhmmmnn liquorish...

Good Deal.

Didn't I see something like that in the Manhattan Project? :D (favorite line "I didn't know that!?").

Put some small drain holes in the bottom so the fish don't follow the outflow when you pick it up.

Midnight's got people thinking on here...Yeah :mwave:

I think that's our fifth design?

I would have a max of 4 entry/exit places.

I have another good idea of a 4 entry trap. I'm going to build it soon and test the two together.

:headbang2 its all fun in the process too.

you know that aint gonna work?
what happens on the bottle ones is the fish go in and they go around the edges when trying to get out. htis one there is no edges.it may work but i doubt it.
