A twelve foot tank will be longer then 12 foot measured diagonal corner to corner. Not to mention the space taken by the many people lifting the tank. Once you add a tank, less space for moving the next tank. You better plan ahead wisely. Don't want to have tanks built that you cannot fit into the room.

I'm aware of that and I'm going one step at a time.

The 12 footer is only 30 inches total wide with a door that is 35 inches which means we can go diagonal a bit then place it on the 16 foot wall. My first choice is the new 10 foot tank. Plus before I start moving things in I have got to see what the final space inside is when everything done. Until then this is all just homework.
 
One thing you can do is to get some large cardboard and cut to size of the tanks footprint. This will give you a good idea of what you can and can't do as far as maneuvering the tanks through the doorway.
 
The painting, stucco, power/electric are done. Insulation and an drywall is next and completion day to the point of putting aquariums in is approaching. Sorry the kind and generous man who offered to put this together did not go for a larger door. I'm paying the electric.

Im going to 2nd the French door idea. Its not that expensive. DO IT>!
 
I can't the door is done and I have got to pay off debts and can't afford to pay for a new door at the momment. I hear you though go as big as possible with the tanks.
 
What size tanks have you planed? How many? You going with one massive sump for all the tanks? I bet your getting excited, your so close!
