Hi. I want to add to the list of my aquariums 3 55 US gallon tanks. And a stand that holds all three. But I want the fish to pay for their new homes afterwards. I want to breed the fish in these 3 aquariums to so that I get back what I spend. I am a college student and you know the rest. What could be the best and easiest fish to breed. And can it be done, to get the money back by breeding the fish.

jack dempseys fore sure, convicts but you dont need that much room to breed them maybe like 20 us gallons german rams, or african cichlids

How much time would it take to get them to breed and at what size do they breed. How do I tell the sexes apart.

your best bet would probably buy a bunch of the same fish like 4 or 6 and hope that they pair up instead of just hoping you get a male and female, just google up some names and see what comes up for breeding, what type if fish do you want

Some that are easy to keep and breed and do not get big like 8 to 12 inches long. Easy to breed. Are easy to keep for beginners and are hardy and not easly killed by ammonia and nitrates and nitrites.

Keep in mind that you will need (in most cases) growout tanks for the fry. It can be done but you really need to find out what kind of fish are in demand in your area . Once you know what you want to breed, then do google seaches to find out as much info as possible. Or search the forums here which have thousands of threads for breeding just about anything. Good luck....

I want to know can I make the money I spend on the aquariums and stand by breeding fish and how long can it take.

convicts are really easy to bread. but you should think about it a bit cause as stated above youll need tanks to grow out the fry.

1 55 gallon for breeding and 2 55 gallon tanks would not be enough to grow out the fry.

no it would be fine you only really need like a 20 gallon or ten gallon to grow out fry, you could prlly breed at least two different species in two tanks and use the 55 for a growout if you cant get a smaller tank for fry
