I suggest no feeder fish.

I suggest you get a tank the is large enough in size so that you can properly keep the arowana for more then just 3 months.

Hey,

I had similar issues with my arowana when i first got him. Aside from the fact you need a bigger tank do the following:
side note i know this is not the right way but it worked well for me.

Start of by feeders then switch to crickets then Hikari Arowana Food stick. He can go without eating for about a week so dont worry.

Hope this helped.

No feeders ever. Keep doing research! Crickets work great about once a week. Start with small crickets and at about 8-10" switch to large crickets.

Thanks for all the suggestion and information provided.

If a 72 gallon is not enough for aro what fish should i go for? i like fast growing fishes.

I would stick with something 6" or smaller just depends on what you like?

happy aro keeping bro

I also suggest no feeders. i also suggest to start thinking about a bigger tank or maybe 2 bigger tanks.
srimp, austrich hearts ( cut in fine pieces ) and if you feel like having MonsterFIshes some massivore pellets :)
As far as your arowana being stressed it might be a good idea to invest into a api test kit for the water ....but thats a whole new thread anyway enjoy your new fish treat him good and welcome to the addiction .
Side note there is 1 thing that is 100% sure YOU WILL NEED BIGGER TANKS. and watch out for that RTC he might get hungry, very hungry ,arowana hungry soon
Cheers

I wonder what people do when the rtc out grow their tank.

P.S. why everyone don't feed feeder fishes?
