There are many other Xanthics around. These are just rare, due to supply and demand. Also, not many people know of them.

You could find these in the wild. But it could take you days to catch one. You'd have to go scuba-diving to find them.

They seem to pop up much more often in Australia & the UK than in America. At least when it comes to Xanthic Parachromis sp.

That is such a stupid comment. You CAN'T find them in the wild. That's why they're rare...If collectors were pulling melanistic mutations out of the wild (even one every couple of days, like you say), don't you think their would be more in the hobby?

Back to the OP, breed that sucker. Then breed the offspring (25% xanthic!). Money in the bank.

yeh im planning on growing up the fry looking for a female, there already a breeding pair, soo just gota wait a little... also what do you think the youngest(size) she would mature?

my dads got some of his fry, they are about 4" but not showing any signes of XANTHIC yet... ill try get soem pics a bit later though.
