No reptiles have died but I know many people whose reptiles, mostly smaller ones, that just didn't do well until they started dechlorinating the drinking water.

I didn't even know tap was bad and I still used my filtered drinking water from the fridge.
 
It varies by location, where I live the levels are a bit higher, and most of these reptiles were small species or hatchlings, I know many people whose reptiles do just fine without dechlorinating the water, but most of these are a bit larger like beardies.

Has anyone ever told you that you're different?
Very nice little monitor. I never would have though baby varanids could be that small.
