New baby largemouth bass

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Pics as promised. The first one is it in the aquarium and the second one is in a filthy bucket(the lake is really dirty, some people throw trash in there and there is algae and rotting leaves everywhere). Sorry i know my camera stinks I'm getting a new one real soon to take better pics of my fish.

Do all babies have such radiant yellows? I noticed my bass has some nice yellow coloration and i was wondering if that is normal or i just caught a particularly good looking fish.

Nice looking bass! Im not sure where did you catch it at, Here in Missouri Ive seen bass have subtle coloration differences depending on where you catch them....and then of course age and time of year.

Thanks, caught it in nj.

Cool thats very cool, in some rivers we have spotted/smallmouth hybrids that are cool looking and very good fighters.

yeah need to get a large tank and i would be carfull having other bass in there i had a group of three all the same size as yours and one killed the other two

I have one that is 3/4" long caught in a currently growing out for my 1400 pond. He loves blood worms. LMB are very fun to own but once that hit 10" they kill everything. I had one that got 14" from 3" and he killed all the sunfish and almost killed my gar. Here's a pic of the big fella when he was around 9".

dont think ill be keeping him that long. i am planning to build a giant pond and put them in it. im talking 15,000+ gallons

My LMB grew 10" in less than a year. Be careful what you're getting into. To put it in perspective, this fish will eat everything you throw at it. Grubs, locus, crickets, shrimp, minnow, chub, worms, any bug, goldfish, frogs, you name it. They have no fear, and are always hungry. I have a creek that supplies minnow and crayfish. He will eat 20-30 minnow in 5 minutes. 10 large goldfish. Just letting you know - this is no cichlid. :)
