Hey guys Elblingo again.
Just thought i'd share a new fish I brought home today. The almighty Aussie icon the Murray Cod. He's only a few weeks old and a little less than an inch. I've always loved these fish for their looks, what they represent and the size they can get, biggest one recorded was 183cm and 250 pounds! They are on the IUCN critically endangered list and are getting rarer and rarer in the wild, but are getting found more commonly in aquariums these days, from what I've seen anyway. Best part was I got him for $8, cheapest I've ever seen this fish go for! I couldn't pass him up. He seems to be settling in well and eating a like a horse. Could'nt get the best picture because he's a hider, but more will be up soon!

Good stuff man, pump the heater up and feed him twice a day to get that growth going, mine went from about the size of yours to about 3 and a half inches in about 3 weeks.

Just a few pics of mine for you.

I have mind around 28, wouldn't go much higher than that.

He's in about 26.5 at the moment. His bigger home waiting for him sits between 27.5 and 28.1 all day, tanks in the garage so it stays a little warmer than the rest.

You lucky guys!

Do you get those natives at the store or do you have to find them in the wild or from hobbyists?

I got mine at my LFS, they're the best i've come across in my area for natives, Mine was cheap because they didn't have to pay freight to get them from down south, I think they found a breeder locally. Couldn't go past him for the price!

Sounds perfect, good stuff.
