i don't know how to get them to eat pellets.. cause i don't do pellets.. lol.

but i found that the little guys will eat or try to eat anything that moves.. so i thaw the bloodworms and brine shrimp cubes in water.. and pour it in front of the powerhead stream so it flies across the tank.. instantly you've got baby peacock bass that eat whatever you put in the tank.
