Collected these today.Seined them. They are about an inch at the smallest and an inch and a half at the largest. There are 4 musk and 1 painted. The painted already eats massivore.I have them in a 33 gallon tub.I will put them in other tubs as they grow.I just want to know if the musk turtles will feed as easy as the painteds are?
There is also a 3 inch painted in there, also eating massivore.Way better feeding response than the musk.
Thanks.

Nice turtles. Musks will eat just about anything but some can be picky. Watch the real small ones, they're the hardest to get to eat at that age. I feed mine earthworms, bloodworms, crickets, snails, aquatic insects, tuna fish, Reptomin, shrimp pellets, cichlid pellets and freeze-dried shrimp.

Ditto:D Also dont forget that baby musks can (at least thats what Ive been seing online:confused: not shure never had one so small  but the web site is a good one) drown if the water level is to high. You may want to raise the small ones in a smaller container and also put some aquatic plants in there. But the best advice I can give you is to simply put them back where you found them. Both species are very popular in the US pet trade and very sheap. So you dont have to cach them to have them. Why insted dont you get yourself some established yearlings or bether yet , ask your local herp society or rescue if they have turts in need of a good home:D:popcorn:

^^ Can you point me in the direction of a herp rescue near me?

As far as them drowning, even the smallest one swims right up to the rocks and hangs there and breathes. And when the painted gets too big I will simply give it it's own tub.Keep in mind these are very small turtles right now.

Hey attackfish, do the musk's like to eat off the bottom? With my water flow they'd never catch the reptomin!
