I would love that. Who knows... if this is successful perhaps I'll upscale in the future haha. This is very much trial and error at the moment - there isn't an awful lot to go by on the internet!
 
Maybe a crab or two?
 
Plans for next week... a sand and small rock mix substrate added, creeping jenny added to the islands (to eventually spread across them and the waterfall) and perhaps dwarf hairgrass to centre (to spread and create a carpet if it takes). If the hairgrass fails then a floating plant of some description.

It will be very lightly stocked with just a few WCMMs or danios.

Following for sure.
Salvinia would be a good floating plant. It would fit the scale well because it’s small but
It’s bigger than duckweed so it’s not as bad to cause the same problems.

So... planting done. I'm confident the creeping jenny and terrestrial moss will take off (and like the fact they are British natives).. I'm not so confident about the rotala rotundifolia but we'll see how it goes. Happy for other suggestions? Photos (imagination needed for how it'll look in the weeks to follow)..
