Here he is, it's a crappy pic, it was taken on my tablet, I really need to get a proper DSLR camera for my fishes. He's called, wait for it.....tinkerbell! Yeah yeah I know, don't break my balls. When he was really young I thought he was a she so my missus named him. As he got bigger I realised i'd sexed it wrong but I haven't got the heart to tell my missus so this big guy's now stuck with a birds moniker!1365850

Lol, funny story dude haha, he would look great with a decent pic. I just use my phone tbh. Google pixel 1.

Thats a nice rescue. But 4 years and not bigger? Mine is two years old about 35cm

There's only one name for a fish with a gob as big as that....Jagger! How much did you pay for it by the way? I'm betting you got it pretty cheap as I bet the shop was dreading keeping it any longer, I bet they couldn't wait to get shut of it.
Haha. Now I can’t get the song out of my head by Maroon 5. He’s got the mooooves like jagger. Nice pick up Justarn. Looks like he’s going to love the 300.

Also esox ‘s little tinker bell is a beauty. Er I mean he’s handsome. Lol. Gender neutral right? Lol.

Also I have a friend who has one in his 280 wide boy that it pretty close to 2’. Don’t think that works in a 150. lol. Not for life anyway.

How big do these bad boys typically get. Haven’t done any research on them.

Most of the info says 20" on the red tails, I'm yet to see one properly measured that's bigger.
Normal gg can pass 2ft and approach 2.5ft in the wild.

Maybe, consider 20" as an average max size in an aquarium and a 20yr lifespan with a fish constantly growing tho.
I don't know how he has been cared for do I but he doesn't look stunted to me?
Fish generally slow down alot after 2yrs of age.
Is yours a female?

I cant say if mine is a female or a male. The nuchal hump is very large on my and the head quite elongated. Pointed fins indicates its a male but im not the guy to sex it. I recently got it from a friend who hade it with a true pair of albino giant gouramis and it wrecked havok in his tank so he had to rehome it. My 2 cents is that its a male.

My new guy loves hikari and mussel, not eaten any veg yet tho. Tried carrot, tomatoe, lettuce, cucumber, runner bean.... Normals I've kept in the past loved most veg?
