wow, thats a high price for an oscar. was it a big one? I got this guy for $13, but i got a discount. To me the price i paid was high for an oscar, whih promptedme to believe is was in fact a bllod oscar. i usually see regular oscars for $5 or less. the lfs that i got them from is good for getting in quality fish, so hopefully it is in fact a blood oscar.....
No the oscar is a a little 2''er. The manager told me that the oscar was very rare. I got him 2 weeks ago.

Ouch, looks like the LFS got you good. Albino red ("fire", "blood" oscars) are not very common, but certainly not worth 50 bucks -- I've seen them for $10 at 3 inches or so. Pics?

Those are sweet. Add another oscar type to the list I want.

I just bought a 40gl breeder tank for him today. filtration will be an Xp3. This tank should do him for a short while(around 6-8 months), then i'll get him a 75gal to himself.

There also called "" Fire Oscars"". I got one there so cool I'll post my pics later. I got mine for 50 bucks. There RARE!

im sorry that happened to you. i got my old one at walmart.

Fire oscars are just a scam name. They may have a little more red than a typical tiger oscars, but the prices often sold for them are insane. Bloody reds, AKA ruby red oscars are NOT fire oscars. They are NOT a scam. And if you find one in the US, well, you must be havin' one helluva lucky day.
