Typical Blood Parrot behavior. They will hide and be shy, but in due time they will be feeding from your hand. My Blood Parrot even attacks my hands when I vacuum the tank as they have laid claim on one of the caves. Come feeding time....territory ? What territory ?...... Where is the food ?

It makes me really happy to see two people so happy about a fish. Especially when one had trepidations about even caring for one in the first place.

Guys this is urgent so I got him a nice large piece of driftwood to hide behind to allow him more comfort but it did the exact opposite. He's so unsettled by the new addition in his home that he's clinging to the filter again, and now he's on his side, just like he was when he was really stressed before we got him the pot. He's too scared to go in the pot or even swim because he's very scared of the driftwood. I thought it was funny at first but I think it's serious now.

It's not just give it time blood parrots are almost as bad as oscars when it comes to being drama queens. It will be fine. Just turn off lights and let it settle around the new addition
