she just laid eggs. this is her first time. i am going to remove the eggs tomorrow because i don't want them to eat them.

Congrats bro, make sure to keep an eye on them.

i couldn't stop watching if i wanted. i separated the parents this morning. he is still obsessed with eating the eggs and she wasn't going to let him. then i remove the eggs to a tank where they have an airstone for a parent. airstones never eat the eggs:D

I'd dose it with a small dose of meth blue as well..(this will dye your tank silicone blue too though..) GL.. Now the work starts.. lol

thanks for reminding me. i forgot to do it. i just added it. i don't think anything that has to do with my fish is work. i enjoy it. even cleaning the tanks.

i had some wrigglers last night. it doesn't look like most of the eggs were fertilized. there were a few moving around though. hopefully there will be more when i get home. i thought it was a half day early to see any,but i guess they are premature:) i really didn't want a huge batch of fry anyway so i think it is best. i just want to get one male that i like. i may keep a nice female if i get one, but my plan is to breed to a female kamfa.

it looks like i am going to get less than 10 fry from these 2 they have hatched but are sitting on the bottom of the flowerpot eating their yolksac.

i removed the flowerpot yesterday so i could get the bad eggs out before they made a huge mess. the wrigglers were still in the gravel as of last night. i expect to see some swimmers when i get home :) i hope so. that female is very *****y once she gets what she wants from my male.

they are free swimming and eating. there are between 8 and 12 of them. i am not positive. they are very small and fast. i am most likely just going to keep the best male, unless i get a very nice female and no good males.

they are growing. they can eat dehydrated brine shrimp now. they are still very small though. maybe 3/16" to 1/4". i think 1/4" is pushing it though. the mother is young and her color is still devoping. she has a blue sheen that is getting brighter and her red is spreading onto her head and farther back on her body. it is a deep red, not pink like the father. i think if i get a fish that has the best traits of both of them, it should be very nice. they both have long streamer fins. the male is shorter bodied than the female. it is exciting to watch fry grow from eggs and I LOVE THIS HOBBY!!!
