how big is he? also he has some cool colors with the yellow ventrally. Mine is 7", but from where i got him i dont think he will ever get bigger than 11, or 12" if i am lucky, the largest i have caught them in the river where i got im is 10". Pretty cool i have a dwaf species strain. good luck.

I would not consider it a dwarf strain. Likely the the environment cannot support the population or none live long enough to reach a larger size. Some species also just don't grow large. In captivity, with a healthy setup and time yours will likely grow larger.

That is a really nice brown, lucky fish.

How did you convince them to give it to you alive?

You: "I want to gut it myself so it taste fresh before I eat it"
Asian guy: "OK OK OK you very smart american I give for you live"

or what???

Umm, the guy at the asian supermarket was actually American. The supermarket couldn't care less if the fish was sold live or dead. The guy there only does gutting, descaling, and filleting.

This is at the Super 88 Market in Brighton, MA.

If this guy survives and thrives (can make the adjustment), then I'll get more and share them with people who want them (I have a permit to sell).

He's 11 inches. He is doing well. He's eating the minnows that I throw in there.

I get the feeling that anyone at an Asian supermarket in America is American. Unless they're illegal immigrants, I doubt that.

Every asian market I have ever been to all the workers are asian. Hence the word "asian" in the name. I would not expect a white guy to be working at an asain super market. No racism intended.

You have misunderstood me completely, Focusing only on exactly what I said not to focus on.
:wall::duh::nono::thumbsdow:swear:
No crap, The asian in the name is for the type of merchandise they sell. You are unbelievable! I am just saying I never see white people (or any other race for that matter) working at these asian markets.

I realize what he means but my point was that even if the workers are originally from Asia or decended from Asians that does not make them any less American then a white worker. He said "The guy at the Asian supermarket was American". That may be but white or not the workers there are all likely American. Anyway, I'm just being a pain in the arse, I knew what he ment from the get go.
