I realize what he means but my point was that even if the workers are originally from Asia or decended from Asians that does not make them any less American then a white worker. He said "The guy at the Asian supermarket was American". That may be but white or not the workers there are all likely American.

True that, I assume that now a days it is damn near impossible to become an illegal immigrant living in the United States. That is unless you are coming here from Canada or Mexico. A person can easily cross the border and become virtually undetected. Compare that to flying or taking a boat here from another country over seas. It seems like it would be a lot harder because of passport issues and what not. I'm sure it's done often but it seems like a lot to go through. On the other hand this is the land of the free or so "they" say.

All the fish in Asian market tanks look like they are their last leg. Breathing hard and about to die. You must have saw something really special in this guy. He's a lucky cat! I hope he is doing well!

Actually, the fish in this supermarket are doing pretty well. The catfish are all active, the carp are swimming around, the tilapia harassing each other.

I said American because I was trying to imply that he was white. I didn't say white in the first place because I didn't want to have any racial references.

This is an Asian Supermarket run by Asian Americans. The seafood department has 2 white guys and a black guy working there and a couple asian americans. I think it is because the supermarket is in a predominantly white and asian neighborhood, they would need some people who spoke english fluently.

I don't really think that this has anything to do with the fish though so please stay on topic.

Oh, if anyone wants one, I'll start offering them next year. (I have a permit... well I'll be renewing it next year :D)

Good point, Anyway about the fish it looks like his barb was snipped. Will that ever grow back? I assume they did it for handling purposes.

Nope. the barbs weren't snipped. He poked through 3 layers of poly bags.

His dorsal barb had some damage to it, but it's growing back. The pectoral barbs have a white tip to them

I am 100% sure that the barbs grow back if broken off.

He's doing pretty well. He's still alive and he's eating pretty well.

I've got a blueish bullhead ive had him for about 5 yrs.He was given to me from someone that called him a blue catfish. He looks just like your fish but blue so I assume I'm correct calling him a bullhead. Anyway great looking fish you totally scored.
