If the leak is on the suction side, it will draw the dope into the thread when the pump is turned on. You can apply more as it runs or electrical tape the joint. Negative pressure will pull the tape tight.

I did end up pulling the pumps and redoing the thread sealant. I finally got it........



While I had it torn down I decided to cut some strips of the material I used under the pumps. Just in case there is any weight on the threads of the pump housing. I didn't want another slow leak to open up over time. It seems to have helped. That may have been the issue.


Its been running for 5+ hours and no more leaks, finally..

Now that there are no leaks I can finish up underneath. Overflow plumbing to the sump is done.



I put in unions so I can remove the overflow pipes in case I need full access to the sump. Nice to have and not need kind of thing.

I'll leak test overnight and plumb in the return pump tomorrow night as well as start drilling the sump for the auto top off, drip, probes etc... Nice to see this thing wet for good.
