This thread was a trap...Well played Phil.

Some people need to stop thinking about certain things...

That is crazy to be a relatively large animal with no lungs or gills. I guess they live in really shallow or steadily moving water where DO is highest?

Actually, the thread wasn't intended to be a trap. It was merely meant to be an informative thread about a new species. I was really hoping for some adult discussion on a species that is fascinating in that it doesn't utilize what can be thought of as customary physiology in its respiration. Sadly, looks like it was a wasted effort. The snickering schoolyard troops are doing their best to turn the site into an offshoot of the mindless facebook garbage. It's no wonder we've lost too many knowlegeable members. Who the hell want to post something constructive only to have it torn down by morons?

Looks like a hippo crossed with an eel/snake. Is it blind?

I can't find any write-up on the animal's vision. However, it appears to have rudimentary eyes which it may use to distinguish light from dark and the eyes seem large enough to distinguish movement.
