New Caecilian Found. Probably gonna get closed...

Their diet is assumed to be similar to other caecilians. Small fish, worms, and inverts would comprise their diet but, any actual study of feeding habits or gut contents has yet to be done.

One group that collected 6 specimens states they observed a specimen burrowing through the mulm at the shore edge. If that's true, it's eyes would be useless. It would stand to reason that the animal would use nerves in its skin to detect movement in the mulm to hunt worms and other inverts that inhabit that zone.

Very cool, thanks for sharing. I have never even heard of this type of.. fish? Amphibian?

And with that said the kid in me thinks it should be named "super bad" like the movie.

That is amazing. Even for me, I must admit it is quite an ugly beast. And on the topic of Halichoeres bivittatus, I've run into its name many times...who on earth would have given it that name? Even formal and scientific books include it.
