  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Very cool looking caiman.......he's great looking and I like his enclosure a whole lot too.......

Thats amazing, id love a dwarf caiman (Paleosuchus palpebrosus) but i cant afford a DWA licence in my area its quite expensive. I also dont have the room.......YET. I would love a Caiman though, the ultimate pet reptile in my eyes.:eek:

hey man nice build!! quick q if u dont mind. pm if u dont want to post it here. if u dont want to at all just tell me, its all good. whats the final cost? whats ur lighting? heated pond? if so what temp? whats his diet? what temp u keep the enclosure at? glass thickness? what did u do for the bottom? hmm if i think of anything else ill let u know. lol. im tryin to get plans written up for my build so i can get the cost total!!

Rough costs were pretty cheap, it was mostly stuff I scavenged from old reptile cages.
4x6 Laguna pond - 250.00 bucks
4x2.5 Laguna pond - 60.00

The water is about 76, filtered with an old school Fluval Internal. Enclosure temps are about 80/76 day/night (hotter right under the ceramic).

Bags of mulch for the bottom.

The "glass" is plexi. I'd use that over the needed thickness of real glass, plus it doesn't shatter as easily.

It's got a ceramic 150 watt heater (on all the time), a 150 watt day bulb, a 1 watt night LED light.

Also, a fogger for looks. Eats mice and small/medium rats.

Thank u simon! were u get the 6' by 4'? i want that!!
any problems with the ceramic heater? is it a heat rock? i heard they can be very hazerdous.

Naw, it's a ceramic bulb that produces heat but no light. The 6'x4'x2' is the largest Hagen. Laguna pond vat...just ask at anywhere that sells Hagen stuff.
