Someone my mom works with, their father in-law, was diagnosed with lung cancer and I guess was unable to really care for the cat. We were looking to rescue anyway, so I guess that counts as a short rescue story
Here she is, her name is Bella. I kind of want to change her name, but she's had it for four years and it just doesn't seem right to change it haha.

My cat doesn't care what name I call her. She doesn't answer to any of them anyway. She acts completely deaf unless there is food present. Now that she is the only cat there, she has taken over a room for herself. She sits on the baby gate on her doorway, waits for me to come by and give her a ride to the other side of the house. She likes to ride on my shoulder, I have all kinds of scratches on my back from that, or her latest thing is she wants to be carried on a pillow. She acts like a little queen now that her competition is gone. Her name is Princess and I got her as a foster kitty. She and the others in her litter had been retrieved from a storm drain pipe. Rescues can be very loving. My 2 dogs are rescues also.

Whoops accidentally double posted so here's some pics
[So good of you both to take such great care of this kitty.. both momma and baby are beauties... thank goodness for people like you
