NEW CAT

 • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Mines still only small about 8/9" but it too batters my poly pushes him round the tank , tries to bully my other cats during feeding but most of the time the poly gets it , nice find op that's a beast :D

Nice!

Bullying? I've only heard of a couple of examples of that in giraffe cats, one of them from Arapaimag. Most usual complaint is that they plow though everybody during feeding time. Not hurting any other fish but vacuuming up most of their food. Is that what was meant?
THANKS

nice cat!

Wow! Very nice scoop! When's an update in the tank coming?

vid of him in the quarantine tank spends all night sifting sand for old blackworms LOL. You can see the sand coming out his gills at around 9 seconds. He wont eat the tilapia yet hopefully he will soon ill go backrupt feeding this giant blackworms.

Beautiful fish. IME and from what I've read, they are more of the pellets-kind-of fish. They can be trained to take almost anything, being quite omnivorous, but that may take an effort. Their natural diet includes little or no flesh - it's whatever they find in the substrate, mostly insects and larva, worms, crustaceans, plant matter, roots, even detritus. It appears that rarely would they try to eat a dead fish or some such.

THANKS i know about the natrual diet but i really want to get him to eat tilapia because thats the main reason im putting him in with my MARBLE GOBY pair is to clean up and they eat a lot of tilapia. Hes been eating earthworms and shrimp dont even put blackworms in the tank hes eating the ones leftover from the fish that were in the quarantine tank before him. I dont use pellets at all hell have plenty of options but i still need him to at least eat the tilapia scraps if not hes not gonna stay.
