I recently acquired a decent sized catfish from Suriname this past week. It was imported 3 wks ago ans has gone thru qt process for external and internal bugs and bacterial issues. It's presently on a 300 gal divided from the other inhabitants from getting hurt. Too big to be eaten thankfully. Its settling in nicely and stays hovering just above the bottom occasionally swimming around and exploring but for the most part staying in the same area of its enclosure. Dose anyone have exp with these fish? I have plenty of exp with big cats. Presently i have a tig over 24" in a different tank. I appreciate any info.

They like clean water and fish,
Congrats on getting him, one of my dream fish.
They don't grow very fast and appreciate some current.

I have done exactly that. Has a return line running down in front of him. He definitely is something special! Especially from where it comes from. Not many have the privilege to own one of these beasts. If anyone would like one pm me and i can connect you to the person that sourced him for me.

After some careful thought I've decided to move him into my main display tank. He just wasn't doing as well as i had hoped. Most likely due to the monster that was on the opposite side of the divider. I waz worried that this big tig would harm him but so far all is well. He has actually been actively searching for food to eat which is a great sign!IMG-20180415-WA0000.jpeg

What happens when it gets big?
