Speaking for myself, my comments in this discussion have nothing to do with being a naysayer. Clearly there are those that do not understand, or simly don't care about the potential long term ramifications of intraspecific hybrids in this hobby. Which is fine by me, just don't attempt to tell me that a blue umbee, is a blue umbee, is a blue umbee, unless you have something more than a personal opinion to back those kind of claims up. Even the King himself has stated that his location Z has a different physical profile (more torpedo shaped) compared to a Rio Mag umbee. What else is or isn't different between the various geographical locations??? -----> at this point nobody knows.

Doesn't sound to me like you are on the fence at all, Madness. It appears that when it suits your personal inclination you are pro intraspecific hybrids.

It's a slippery slope ........

other than body structure, freckling, and possibly point in which they color up I haven't really noticed anything different. In all realty Umbee's aren't described by location but simply caquetaia umbrifera so a blue umbee is a blue umbee despite collection point

Nobody seems to bicker about refering to the green umbee as the panama green.

In the hobby we have colombian blue color umbee , panama green color umbee , and now " thx to Chris" the gorillus black color umbee.

The green and blue umbee are both still called caquatia umbrieferus. My guess is the gorillus umbees are caquatia umbrieferus as well.

Lopaka .......... Unless you have some type of special DNA x-ray vision, you typically won't notice anything different between any fish collected from various locations, other than physical characteristics such as what you just described. One day down the road these fish will almost certainly all be classified beyond just a color morph. I'm quite certain that you understand what I'm saying, as does everyone else in this discussion. How you all choose to proceed is clearly your prerogative.

Nobody said that they aren't the same species of fish. Whoa .....

As far the so called fish experts , unmodestman & the normal naysayers RD , DOG of war all you have is opinions'. You do not have any scientific proof about

anything your saying other than blowing hot steam with your ramblings on keeping things pure like some sort of ss classification. Pure this pure that people are working with what they have and if you can't respect a name given or undisclosed location then too bad for you.

What I see wrong is people that are hating and trying to make someone's awesome collection trip and find fault in how ,what , and who they choose to breed this awesome collection.

Do I have to check with them ? I thought you said this was a public forum and everyone was entitled to there own opinion it is just that my opinion you rant and rave On every single thread so as a member hear I get the same opportunity. We had this discussion before and you seem to be a so called expert and love to give your opinion so as far as I can tell I'am free to do the same. And keep your name calling save it for your trolls and females that seem to show up on ever post when someone has a different opinon.

Just because you believe something doesn't make it true."

Oriqua .......... you might want to check with Chris (Umbeeking), as well as Lopaka, before you make a bigger azz of yourself than you already have. Both of them have privately thanked me for my input & assistance.

My comments in this discussion have nothing to do with being a naysayer, or a hater, nor do I care what Chris calls these fish - you are waaaaay out in left field, without a glove.

Thanks for the constructive continuation of this thread... I bet this kind of post is EXACTLY why the mods opened it back up.

Matt
