What do you have now?

You are looking at quad-core, they released dual cores and have improved upon the processors design.

Possibly 8GB of Ram and the OS people rave/trash in Vista

Your is a bit more expensive. Yes it's within my budget, but everyone wants to save money here and there.

if you build a system you can get windows 7 for free (for a year...then you can get it cheap from someone in college lol)

You could make a killer system in your budget range..... I'm thrilled with mine (quad core, 4gigs of ram, 500g SATA HD, HDMI on board video) and it was less than $500
