New Computer

I got a new computer last night. I'm flying at warp speed now. B-)

It has a AMD Athlon 4200 64x2 processor with 1gb of RAM, a 250gb 7200 rpm hard drive, nine memory card slots, seven USB2 slots, firewall and a great graphics card with an additional 256k of memory.

CS2 and Bridge is unbelievable faster. And the issues with colors is gone now. The ATI Radeon Xpress 200graphics card allowed me to select "sRGB Color Space Preference" in the Color Management folder of the properties. Now in CS2, everything from Bridge to Monitor to Save for Web is the same colors:exclaim: B-)

Congrats bobby. Did you mean 256 MB on the graphics card? not 256k, that is a long time ago.
 
bobby, will you pm me what you got included, and the price? and where, local or 'net? I am in the research stages. That soulds like perfect specs, I know hiro is looking at JUST THAT, and Jay just got a very similar setup.
 
Hi Bobby. Congratulations! I'm currently doing some research on this very same subject! The only problem I'm having now is taking the plunge. AMD is supposed to release new chips in the next month or two that support ddr2, so I'm on the wall if I should wait it out or jump in with two feet! Awesome, dual core - that's the route I will be going.

I got it at Circuit City because I get most of my electronics there and can redeem coupons and award points that I accumulate. I'm sure you can get it cheaper somewhere else which would probably bring it down. I have had good luck with HP.

Nice new rig you have there, Bobby. Not a bad price either considering where you got it from.

I'm on the fence right now after having talked to Hir0 about a new rig, haha. Just waiting to see what's around the corner and hoping for a slight drop in current prices.
