New Computer

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
bobby, that is fast. Is that with 1 or 2 gigs. Can you give us both numbers? I am pricing out a system now, so I want to see the difference an extra gig makes.

Ed, that is with 2 gigs. I would have to take the memory cards out to test it with 1 gig. Right? I would rather not go through all that. You know unhooking everything and all. Sorry.

I can run the test on my other computer that has only 512. Huh?

Just did it with the old computer. It is a AMD Athon 2800+ (2.08 GHz), 120 gb harddrive w/90gb free space, 512 mb RAM.

2 mins 13 secs:lol:

Well, I was looking for a test on the same system (the new one you have that I am looking into) but doing a test with 1 and then with 2 gig. You got the 2 gig. I understand if u are not comfortable opening it up. Though it's not too difficult. :) Who put it in for you? You just open the case and take the chip out. restart do the test, turn off and insert the chip. But, no biggie.

haha. no pressure Bobby, really.
I definitely think it's time for me to upgrade my desktop - Athlon 2000+ with 512mb probably would take 5 minutes to render that filter. Just on the fence with whether or not I should wait for the DDR2 compatible chips. It's very hard to restrain myself from pulling the trigger now. I may just go ahead and buy.

I put in the two 512 DDR Dimms in.

My computer is under my countertop corner desktop. I would have to crawll uner there, unhook all the peripherals and power supply cables, and pull it out and lay it on the table to take the modules out. Then crawl back under the counter top, hook everything back up.

I love you man, but not that much:badgrin:

Ed why dont you list your new computer specs?

Its really also bepends on the clocking of the RAM and the Timings...

Bobby do you know what PC and clock times the RAM is?

Garrett
