he is not aggressive at all.

How long have you had the fish? The agression should pick up as long as he is healthy whether it's a cross river or a fahaka... And f.y.i not to many fahakas look like that so even if it is a fahaka it was worth every penny..

Cheers

That's not a bad deal for a 10". Don't see many available, especially that size. Oh, and it's definitely not a fahaka, that's rediculous.

I'm going to have to agree with pufferpunk. Been following the CRP for awhile now... and the fact that it has stripe like patterns suggest it is an oddball fahaka. I haven't seen a CRP in the states and the one's that were sold were closer to the 1K mark.. But then again people say the CRP is just an oddball fahaka to start with. Regardless nice pick up

I have to agree with Puffer Punk and Mubu on this one that it looks more likely to be a unusually marked fahaka... although still a very nice fahaka at that... since every time i've ever seen a Cross River the spots had been more pronounced and not stripy...

As for tankmates, in all honesty its a gamble as to whether or not any fish will last in the tank with your puffer since it could be fine to begin with, but your puffer could decide to turn on your other fish any where from a week/month/year later with no warning...

So imo, if you must get other fish, you could consider getting some small cheap dither fish which have some speed to avoid your puffers jaws... this way if you do lose any, it won't hurt your wallet too bad...

Go to my site & do a search for "pustulaka". We made up that name, because they look like a cross between the fahaka & pustulatus. Or just search around the Giant Puffer section there, lots of posts on this.

Nice fish!
